I kissed dating goodbye e book
By staking a claim on each other, they've stifled their individual growth and needlessly consumed energy that they should have directed into service and preparation for the future."My question is: if, by dating someone, I am stiffing their individual growth and preventing them from preparing for the future, when do I stop growing as a person? Should I be a fully developed person who has their life planned out by 20? It is this kind of half-baked logic that is so harmful to the Christian church - the kind with enough Christian-sounding buzz words in it that people will accept the idea without critically thinking it through. Now, having shared my biggest problems with this book, I should point out that Harris does have some good points about our attitude of dating. This philosophy might work great for the 20-something Christian kids, going to a Christian college, in a Christian home, but for the rest of the country dating is a good and necessary thing! What does this show about the person who proposes such a plan?More than 800,000 copies later, I Kissed Dating Goodbye, with its inspiring call to sincere love, real purity, and purposeful singleness, remains the benchmark for books on Christian dating. Now, for the first time since its release, the national #1 bestseller has been expanded with new content and updated for new readers. In Joshua Harris' "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" we see a man honestly giving advice about dating (or Courtship, if you prefer).
One of my main disagreements with this book is how Harris' portrayal of singleness reflects on marriage.
Shouldn't a Godly marriage offer you and your husband/wife a fuller and better perspective to the learning each of you gain?
In my experience, marriage allows you to explore, study, and tackle the world as much as singleness does, but all of this is with someone that you can gain more appreciation of what you are viewing!
